Tagle also participated in the Pachamama ritual in the Vatican Gardens in 2019 and defended the Vatican-China agreement in 2022.
Leo XIV appoints Cardinal Luis Tagle as new dean of the College of Cardinals. Today, Pope Leo XIV has accepted the resignation of Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, 92, as Dean of the College of Cardinals. He approved the election of Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle as the new Dean of the College of Cardinals. Cardinal Tagle is Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization. Nicknamed “Chito,” the sentimal prelate is known for singing and crying in public. He has wept during liturgies, promotions and talks. In 2015, Tagle condemned the Church's use of “harsh language” toward homosexual, claiming it had contributed to their alleged isolation. In 2017, he participated in an Easter campaign promoting greater acceptance of marginalized people, including homosexuals. #newsThwhrzspyd
A proponent of women’s ordination, Sister Mary Teresa Barron (57), will become president of the Pontifical Mission Societies. Pope Leo XIV also appointed the Irishwoman as adjunct secretary of the Dicastery for Evangelization. She will take office on January 4, 2027.
Leo XIV appoints religious sister – lobbying for female ordinations – to senior leadership position in the Roman Curia. On October 8, Pope Leo XIV appointed Sister Mary Teresa Barron as Adjunct Secretary of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Evangelization and President of the Pontifical Mission Societies. The Pontifical Mission Societies is a global network supporting missionary activity, particularly in Africa, Asia, Oceania and parts of Latin America. Born in Ireland, Sr. Mary became a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles. The missionary congregation was founded in Lyon, France, in 1876 for evangelization, particularly in Africa. “Some women sense a call to priesthood” At a Vatican press conference during the Synod on Synodality in 2024, Sister Barron argued for the ordination of women: “Is the Spirit calling women? Because some women do sense a call to priesthood or diaconate.” Sister Barron believes that “we have to look at broader than just can or can we not …More
Here’s where we’ve arrived. In the presence of the Holy Father, during an event dedicated to the nefarious document *Amoris Laetitia* — of the now-deceased Argentine pope (though the disastrous effects of his pontificate still persist) — a nun suggests that Jesus’ initial approach toward the Samaritan woman was... a flirt. “A theory elaborated by one of my Dominican confreres.” The blasphemous nun, Sister Helen Alford, O.P., is the president of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.
At the Vatican’s Amoris Laetitia anniversary event, Sr. Helen Alford, O.P., approvingly presented a fellow Dominican’s “provocative” description of Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman as beginning with a “flirt” — adding that “the ambiguity persists” before Christ confronts her with the truth.
Pauvre religieuse...
Bishop Heiner Wilmer announces that he will bring to Rome the experience of same-sex couples
German Bishops’ Conference president Bishop Heiner Wilmer says he will bring the “experiences” of homosexual couples to Rome for the Vatican’s Amoris Laetitia summit. Wilmer told katholisch.de that he prepared for the meeting, which begins tomorrow, by speaking with homosexuals and adulterers in a "second union". Pope Leo XIV has stacked the meeting’s additional invitees with several pro-homosexual cardinals, including Jean-Claude Hollerich, Blase Cupich, Robert McElroy, Joseph Tobin, Víctor Manuel Fernández, José Cobo Cano and Luis Antonio Tagle. Notably absent from Leo XIV’s 22 additional invitees are prominent critics of developments surrounding Amoris Laetitia, including Dubia Cardinal Raymond Burke and former Curia prefect Cardinal Gerhard Müller.
"Catholics today fall in two groups. There are those who think the Church is experiencing an unprecedented springtime and those who have actually looked at the statistics."
Dutch Auxiliary Bishop Rob Mutsaerts of ’s-Hertogenbosch: “I do not have to spend very much time convincing this audience that there is a crisis. And indeed, if I were beginning by saying, ‘My dear friends, everything is going splendidly,’ I suspect that you would immediately check whether I have been replaced by an employee of the communications department of the Vatican. And perhaps this is already the first difficulty. Catholics today fall in two groups. There are those who think the Church is experiencing an unprecedented springtime and those who have actually looked at the statistics.”
Because statistics do not decide what is Catholic and what is not. Otherwise, we could build our argumentation on the statistics from Mecca, for example (or contemporary popularity of JPII as the pop star in his times, if you prefer). It is the modernist point of view (vitality of the religion as the criterion of its genuity/truth) - just as St. Pius X condemned it in Pascendi (and as R. Prevost proclaimed it in Metz). As I mentioned the key question here is really the “Catholic Identity”. Because, if the post-conciliar revolution belongs to the “Catholic Identity”, then "traditional Catholics" are, just as Tucho and his followers say, (at least materially) schismatics by rejecting it. If it does not belong, then neither do its adherents including but not limited to "conservative" post-conciliar bishops.

3 categories the 3rd being those who are quite well aware of the statistics and rejoice and are glad. Plainly they are not Catholic but no one is calling them out on their apostasy.
“Quietly, rumors in Rome have suggested that a handful of would-be papal appointments, including a leading candidate for Gambetti’s former job, have actually cried off when asked to serve at the Vatican top table.”
Edward Pentin questiones whether Pope Leo XIV will reverse major elements of Pope Francis’s legacy
Edward Pentin: A respected priest in Rome "was incredulous that certain Vatican cardinals who will remain nameless are still in positions of authority."

Leo has several senior Vatican officials whose terms have expired or who are already beyond the normal retirement age. Cardinal Kevin Farrell is 77. Cardinal Marcello Semeraro is 78.
Eduard Habsburg, former Hungary’s ambassador to the Holy See: “If you follow the Traditional Latin Mass every day, you will notice that the reality of sacrifice, dying for the sins of others, giving your blood for the others — just the sacrifice is very strongly visible.”
05.10.2026 VATICAN COUNCIL II SUPPORTS THE TRADITIONALISTS: POPE LEO XIV MAINTAINS THE SECRET Pope Leo does not tell the traditionalists that Vatican Council II interpreted rationally supports them and not the liberals and the left. He hides this information. But even the Cushingite traditionalists at the Catholic Identify Conference kept it a secret for another year. It is now discovered that we can interpret Vatican Council II rationally or irrationally, with Feeneyism or Cushingism and the conclusion will be orthodox or schismatic. When what is invisible is seen as just being invisible, I call it Feeneyism. When what is invisible is mistaken as being visible, I call it Cushingism. Cushingism is irrationally, heretical and schismatic but not only is Pope Leo, the cardinals and bishops Cushingite but also the SSPX, the Ecclesia Dei communities, the 30 organizations which form the Summorum Pontificum, the Fatima Center, Una Voce and the Catholic Identity Conference. Bishop Athanasius …More
Is that a statue of himself? Seems a little odd to place statue of whomever at a Catholic Identity Conference. I would expect a statue of Our Lord, or the BVM.
Dutch Auxiliary Bishop Rob Mutsaerts of ’s-Hertogenbosch: “The Curia is not the Mystical Body of Christ, Vatican diplomacy is not divine revelation, and the dicastery is not protected by the charism of infallibility in every decision.” “Ecclesiastical appointments can be foolish and bishops can be cowardly and pastoral strategies can fail.”
Leo XIV only reversed Francis' course on financial or administrative matters, not on matters much more important, such as liturgy or faith,' said Diane Montagna at the CIC.
Montagna said Leo had demonstrated that he was capable of overturning decisions made by Francis, but noted that the reversals so far had largely concerned administrative and financial matters. Montagna then asked whether the Pope would be prepared to make changes in areas she considered substantially more important. “Does Pope Leo have the light, the will, and the courage” to reverse the “draconian restrictions” imposed on the traditional liturgy through Traditionis Custodes and the “ongoing revolution” of the Synod on Synodality, she asked.
Speaking at the Catholic Identity Conference in Pittsburgh on 3 October, Pentin said Leo “largely continues the post-conciliar revolution”, portraying the pontificate as one of continuity with Francis despite a noticeably different tone. “Pope Leo… is very much a continuity figure, continuing the post-conciliar course mapped out by Pope Francis,” Pentin said. Pentin acknowledged that Leo’s manner represented an improvement, but argued that the changes made so far were “largely symbolic and small scale”. Pentin also said he had “often heard in recent months in Rome” that people close to Leo “helped him get elected precisely so he might continue the revolution”.
Still, not good enough when they are talking just about "style", concerning these grave, very grave matters. Call an imperfect council. You're so many years already too late. Or you hope, Ed, that Francis III. will have somehow a bit more catholic style?!
