Oslo Bishop Responds to FSSPX Consecrations: "I Will Expand the Roman Rite in the Diocese"

Bishop Fredrik Hansen of Oslo, Norway, issued a July 3 statement following the episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX).
He said the two consecrating bishops and the four newly consecrated bishops had removed themselves from ecclesial communion and unity with the Pope: “This is sad, painful, and calls us to prayer and penance.” He urged Catholics to pray the Rosary for the unity of the Church on the Feast of Saint Sunniva, July 8.
Monsignor Hansen repeated Cardinal Tucho Fernández’s explanation that the consecrations were a schismatic act and that the priests “can no longer validly grant absolution in the sacrament of confession.”
He also urged Catholics to refrain from attending FSSPX Masses and other activities.
Addressing FSSPX faithful directly, he wrote: “I understand that these are difficult and distressing days for you. You may find yourselves pulled in different directions, and perhaps stand bewildered before all that has now come to pass.”

The Decree, the Note, and a Growing Crisis of Canonical Credibility

Just as predicted, when the Holy See announced the excommunication of the bishops consecrated by the Society of Saint Pius X, the headlines were horrible. Attention immediately centred upon the gravity of the penalty and the implications for the Society’s future. Supporters and critics alike hurried to debate Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre’s legacy, the necessity claimed by the Society and the consequences for traditional Catholics throughout the world. Almost unnoticed, however, another conversation began among canon lawyers. Within hours of publication, experienced canonists were asking not whether the Holy See possessed the authority to impose penalties, for no serious Catholic disputes that principle, but whether the documents published by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith had actually achieved what many commentators assumed they had achieved. The distinction is not a technicality. It goes to the heart of whether the Church’s supreme doctrinal authority has exercised its judicial …

I just made a MIND-BLOWING connection about Epstein, and it has nothing to do with the trafficking stuff… it’s about North Korea and Uranium One! According to a 2013 email exchange between Epstein and French diplomat, Olivier Colom, Epstein was “very” interested in North Korea. Stay with me, it will all add up at the end. Colom emailed Epstein and asked if he was “interested in N Korea?”, to which Epstein replied, “very”. Then Colom says, “I have something for you then. Huge. Ultra Confidential. Come to Moscow with me in January?”. Keep in mind, this email exchange took place on December 6, 2013, less than 2 months after the Uranium One deal was completed and Rosatom (Russia) took 100% ownership of Uranium One. Then after Epstein says he “likes the idea” of North Korea as a potential location for whatever they were planning, Colom says, “Issue is very sensitive. Have to meet you.” A LOT of connections here, but wait, there’s more.

Why Is the SSPX So Criticized?

Why Is the SSPX So Criticized? Fond du Lac (Wisconsin, USA) – June 14, 2020: Sunday celebration of the New Mass with distribution of communion to the faithful The Society of Saint Pius X is often wrongly accused of being in rupture with the Church. Yet, it fully recognizes the authority of the Pope while believing that resistance may be necessary when faith is at stake. Why does this position provoke so much criticism? Three Attitudes Towards the Crisis The crisis shaking the Church has been evident for several decades: a collapse in religious practice, a drop in vocations, a loss of the sense of the sacred and of sin, and doctrinal and liturgical confusion. Certainly, some good news, such as the increase in adult baptisms in certain countries, may bring joy to Catholics, but it does not, far from it, compensate for the disaster we have been witnessing for more than half a century. Analyses differ regarding the causes of this crisis and the remedies to be applied. Nevertheless, three …

The essential difference between these two groups lies not in their attachment to the traditional Mass, but in their public judgment on the causes of the crisis. Canonically recognized traditional communities continue, by virtue of their statutes, to institutionally accept the Second Vatican Council and the liturgical reforms. They may criticize certain excesses or interpretations, but they do not contest the principles or the legitimacy of the reforms.
The SSPX, on the contrary, considers that several conciliar teachings, particularly on religious freedom, ecumenism and collegiality, as well as the liturgical reform itself, constitute deep causes of the crisis and must therefore be subjected to doctrinal criticism.

AN EXTRACT FROM THE LIFE OF SAINT HYPATIUS1
by Callinicus, his disciple
(n. 105, l. 22-n. 107, l. 26)
[…]
Nestorius came from Antioch to become bishop of the illustrious and ruling city of Constantinople (Dionysius, who had been named military commander of the East, brought him), as he was drawing nigh to the city, Saint Hypatius saw, in the holy Church of this capital city, that some worldly men installed him on the throne, and at once a voice saying, “Three times and a half a time and you (pl.) root up the cockle.”
106. So Hypatius began to say to certain persons and to the brothers, “I am anxious, children, about the man who is to become [bishop], for I have learned about him that he is to go astray in the faith and he governs three and a half years.” […]
Nestorius thought otherwise than ought to be thought, Hypatius immediately, in the church of the Apostle, removed his name, so that it should not be exalted in the oblation. The most circumspect Bishop Eulalius having learned this …More

Old History Channel clip that still hits hard. 1983: Just 30 Watts of radio waves accurately mapped oil wells across 9 states by vibrating the Earth’s layers like piano strings. 1987: Researcher says turning on similar ELF tech near a fault line accidentally triggered a 4-4.5 quake. HAARP: Massive power beamed into the ionosphere, waves that reflect back through ground and ocean. “If you do this with a billion Watts, the vibrations could be so severe underground that could even cause an earthquake.” If this was possible in the 80s... What are they capable of in 2026? I’m just asking questions. Resonance physics is real. The tech has advanced dramatically. What do you think

'Restitution for Sins of Speech
Every sin requires restitution. Sins against a person’s reputation are no exception.
If someone has been harmed by detraction or calumny, justice demands that the harm be repaired as far as possible. This may involve correcting false statements, restoring a person’s good name, or at least refraining from further harm.
This requirement underscores the seriousness of sins of speech. Words, once spoken, cannot easily be undone. We should all note that it is particularly difficult to offer proper satisfaction for sins of the tongue in this world. This is one of the factors which makes them such awful sins.
Once, a woman confessed the sin of detraction to St. Philip Neri. She had said a terrible untruth about a neighbor. St. Philip gave her a unique penance. He said, “Take a feathered pillow to the top of the hill outside the town and rip it open; then come back to the confessional.” The lady did as instructed. When she returned, thinking she would receive …More

Catholic Ethics of Speech On the Sins of Gossip, Detraction, and the Proper Use of the Tongue | The Fatima Center

The Moral Weight of Words Among the many sins that imperil the soul, those committed by speech are often the most overlooked. Yet Sacred Scripture repeatedly warns of their gravity. Our Lord Himself declares: “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall render an account for it in the day of judgment” (Matthew 12:36). The tongue, though small, holds immense power. St. James teaches: “The tongue is indeed a little member, and boasteth great things… the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity” (James 3:5-6). In an age of constant communication – through conversation, text, and social media – the need to understand Catholic ethics of speech has never been greater. Words can edify or destroy, sanctify or scandalize. They can save souls or contribute to their ruin. The Virtue of Truth and Charity Speech is governed principally by two virtues: truth and charity. The virtue of truth requires that we speak honestly, neither deceiving others nor distorting reality. …
