New Record: 14,000 Registered for Chartres Pilgrimage on First Day

Fourteen thousand people registered in a single day for the 2026 Notre-Dame de Chrétienté pilgrimage on the Paris–Chartres route, compared to 6,000 on the first day last year.
The pilgrimage will take place over Pentecost, from May 23 to 25, and is expected to gather 20,000 participants walking to Chartres.
A new, more accessible option - the “Jerusalem Route” - has been introduced. Shorter than the traditional 100 km walk (around 70 km), it is designed for those unable to complete the full distance. Like the main route, it also ends in Chartres, allowing more pilgrims to take part in the final stages of the pilgrimage.

Franca Giansoldati in the Vatican circus: a joke …
In the grotesque knot that has for years tightened around the Vatican, populated by impostors forever straining towards circles that continue to keep them at a distance, the tragicomic saga of certain self-styled Vatican experts and headline fabricators goes on unabated. They form part of a well-organised clique which now seems to have lost even the most basic sense of the ridiculous to which it has surrendered itself.
The April Fool’s joke that is not funny
Against this backdrop, at 9.29 a.m. on 1 April, Katholisch.de published an article claiming that Pope Leo XIV was intending, at least provisionally, to settle the dispute over the pre-conciliar liturgy through an unusual compromise. The piece attributed to the Pontiff a non-existent motu proprio, significantly entitled Retrograde semper, under which the faithful would supposedly have been permitted, during Mass, to turn their backs on the priest, regardless of which …Bongata

Leo XIV Praises Francis as a "Great Witness of Faith"

During today’s Regina Caeli prayer, Leo XIV paid tribute to his predecessor for his “great witness of faith and love.”
Francis died on Easter Monday last year (April 21, 2025) at the age of 88. Leo XIV said, “In the light of the Risen Lord, we remember Pope Francis today with special affection.”
Fittingly, he warned that the truth is often obscured by fake news, “that is, by lies, insinuations, and unfounded suspicions.”

What wild nonsense he's spouting! No, we absolutely don't remember Francis "with special affection." We remember him as a vile demon from the depths of hell, who daily destroyed everything Catholic, especially the faith.

"Christian-Muslim dialogue" - Yuck! There is no dialoguing with muslims. You might as well be dialing-a-dog! We should not be dialoguing with anyone, we should be preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to them and instructing them in the True Faith.

Indians Are Online Bragging About Scamming Europe's Education System

Authored by Steve Watson via Modernity.news,
Europe is literally paying Indians hundreds of euros a month to “study” while its own students can’t afford rent and are drowning in debt.
In a now-viral video, an Indian student in Europe boasts about the arrangement. He explains how the EU provides him with 1400 euros every single month that covers rent, travel, and meals, with zero student debt, while he still saves 600 euros every single month.
He walks through what he calls “elite scholarship secrets,” noting that a simple bachelor’s degree, a valid passport, and basic English proficiency suffice — adding that “IELTS is not always mandatory” and a certificate from some random school abroad will do.
The poster highlighted the post with clear frustration: “literally bragging about scamming the system with a degree that’s worth less than a high school diploma in the west… total subversion of our education system and you are the one footing the bill. Peak comedy.”

Scott Ritter guest on Daniel Davis deep dive.

1. The War Was Predictably Destabilizing The speaker begins by saying any competent analyst should have known that attacking Iran would disrupt global energy markets. Iran has the capability to interfere with oil flows (especially in key shipping lanes), so economic fallout was a “known known”—not a surprise. 2. Failure to Build International Support They contrast this conflict with earlier U.S. wars: 1991 Gulf War: A broad coalition was built before combat—European allies, Arab states, and NATO partners were aligned. 2003 Iraq War: Even though controversial, the U.S. at least attempted to gain NATO backing and international legitimacy. Current situation: No real diplomatic effort was made to build a coalition. Europe is refusing to participate. European economies are already strained (e.g., from Russia sanctions), and this war is worsening their situation. Conclusion: The U.S. acted unilaterally and now stands isolated. 3. No Serious War Planning The speaker argues the war was launched …Bongata

Starting this war was ill conceived; something a responsible world power would not do.

Examine Your Heart: Where Do You Resist?
The suffering of the Lord and the martyrs challenge the notion that God would never allow suffering. We must conform ourselves to God’s will, even when it contradicts our own desires, as exemplified by Jesus’ prayer in the garden. By examining our own betrayals and rebellions against God’s teachings, we can find grace and strength to embrace our crosses and follow Him.

Hundreds of empty seats during Leo XIV’s Easter Vigil: Matt Butorac, a Catholic pilgrimage guide, reported on X that there were “hundreds of empty seats” during the Easter Vigil at St Peter’s Basilica. The screenshots, taken from a video he shared for "those claiming it was not empty", show the basilica during the baptisms. Butorac attributes this to ticketing issues and disorganised queues. However, shortly before the Eucharist began, entry was permitted without tickets and everyone was able to enter.

@sp2 I see your point and you could be correct. The published pic on this site showed less than a dozen empty seats which were probably in the back of the church. Unfortunately, too many media-types on both sides of any issue are inclined to push a narrative rather than inform their readers.

Verses from Imitation ~ Thomas A Kempis
Trust not in thy friends and neighbors,
and put not oft thy soul's welfare till the future ; for men will forget thee sooner than thou thinkest.
It is better to provide now in time and send some good before thee than to trust to the assistance of others after death.
If thou art not solicitous for thyself now, who will be solicitous for thee hereafter.
Did'st thou also well ponder in thy heart the future pains of hell or Purgatory, methinks thou would'st bear willingly labor and sorrow and fear no kind of austerity.
Who will remember thee when thou art dead ? and who will pray for thee ? Now thy labor is profitable, thy tears are acceptable, thy groans are heard, thy sorrow is satisfying and purifieth the soul.
The patient man hath a great and wholesome purgatory.
